Author Luke Waterson writes, or has written, for various publications including Lonely Planet, Rough Guides, Moon Guidebooks and The Guardian. He is a five time winner of the prestigious Bridport Young Writer's Competition and is an English Literature and Creative Writing graduate of the University of East Anglia in Norwich, Norfolk. Since graduating he has authored four books on and travelled extensively across Europe, North America, Central America, South America and Africa.

Luke's speciality when it comes to writing is travel: he has written a guidebook and a novel on South America as well as three books on British travel. Luke also writes extensively about food and drink, culture and literature. After Inter-Railing around Eastern Europe in 1999 he developed an obsession with Soviet archietecture: something which still draws him back to this day. Outside of Europe, Latin America is his favourite region of the world, although his latest (rekindled) passion is for the Caribbean. He has recently finished writing Lonely Planet's latest guide to Cuba, and written online guides to Trinidad & Tobago and the Bahamas for Columbus Travel.
